Is it bad I kept saying "get em rooster!" The whole time? Swear a smaller kid I wouldn't have rooted for the chicken.:lau

I know, I felt bad for laughing, felt bad for the kid, and for the rooster! But dad probably did the boy a favor.... or scarred him for life. :lau

@CapricornFarm Cappy, I didn't say anything because I figured you'd do the things you need to, set aside the want to's and take it a bit easier in the things you do get done. I understand the no choice stuff, just be extra aware of your actions and proximity to objects. When moving around in the coop, use a protective bandage and a knit cap, and then put your hand up in front of your forehead to help keep from bumping it on stuff.

We do care, I think we just didn't realize you're a single parent to your birds and didn't have any other help. I'm sorry you felt that we didn't understand your situation and were chastising you for not having someone else do it. We just want you to not have any nasty complications, and to be fair, you could have knocked the incision hard inside the house just as easily.

We have the largest dairy farm in the state up the road from us. Some days we get a really stinky wind from there.
When I was a teen, my parents moved to Hockessin, Delaware, which is right across the state line from Avondale and Kennet Square, PA where some of the biggest mushroom farms in the country are located. It really stunk some days.

Well this last week the little hens adult voices are settling in and... oh boy. Sallie has a little feminine voice. Ethel has a high pitched naggy voice. Rene doesn't even sound like a chicken she sounds like a crying puppy. And Dutch lordy mercy...poor girl got a deeep voice her goosy honk voice is her actual voice. She's got the deepest voice in the whole flock, even Negan.:caf

I didn't feel bad for laughing, but I got flogged alot as a kid it was not a big deal. It was only a big deal if mom got flogged.:lau

Isn’t it funny how they all have their own sound? And you can tell who it is when you hear them?

I’ve got to get video of my cream legbar rooster crowing. He has the oddest little twirl on the end of his crow.
And a couple of serama boys are learning. They crack me up. :gig

Oh I was waiting on it! I love hearing what they're going to sound like. You're right though don't have to lay eyes on them to know who it is. Next milestone is hearing all the youngins egg songs. I can't wait! Not even that jazzed about eggs I just know those will all be unique too.:)

AWwwww!!! I wanna hear your rooster.

I miss having one. The neighbors that had one don't anymore. :(

I love a sing songy rooster.

I’ll get him in the morning. I have to know if anyone else finds it odd. I have lots of roosters, and lots of sounds. But this guy is definitely unique in my group.
