I looked at Lulu tonight, crop not full at all for her. Slicked her cheek puffs down her eyes are tired and sunken. She's just worn out. If she stands more than a little while she's alseep. She's cold, sore, and miserable. Doing all I can but it is sad to watch.:(
Can you provide some heat for them?

Well... the dreaded M word has been brought up. I feel sick. With no vet to refer me and my great ag lab only taking referrals I don’t know what to do.
I’m really hoping it’s a horrible string of bad luck and not a deadly outbreak of a contagious disease.
Oh nunny.
I think you need to put out all your feelers and get a referral to a vet, even a large animal vet who would talk to you over the phone. Maybe they would be kind enough to refer you.
I am sending you so many hugs.

That’s really what I’m hoping! I’m making myself crazy reading about it.
The first in the sting of losses was CC. She was named that because she had curved toes at hatch. A sign of Mareks but she lasted 2 years?
Next was that little cockerel. He seemed like wry neck. But that could be mistaken for Mareks. He was from my Swedish Flowers. But not CCs eggs.
Next was Sugar. (2) Her eye is the Mareks clue. I always thought it had something to do with that balloon over her eye. That’s not a Mareks sign but I could never explain it.
No idea on Trouble. (2) He never had paralysis or any classic symptoms. He just dropped dead. (Which can be Mareks)

Gladys (under 1) has not gotten worse per say. I’m not sure what this new stretching thing is. I guess that could be a sign.
Cream Puff (3) is all puffed up and feeling miserable. But again no classic signs.
Mareks is not likely at 2 years old for initial symptoms. The symptoms at 2 are cancer--not neurological. If you open them up at death, there will be tumors

If it is Mareks there isn’t much I can do. If I cull everyone and start over even that isn’t a guarantee. My plan never was to be a breeder. I have the chickens to enjoy them. I’d like them to be happy and healthy. I realize Mareks isn’t exactly healthy but I’m hoping for the best.
You are doing fine!

There is no reason to cull the flock. I would not even get new ones vaccinated.
