I hate you, but have fun & enjoy!
:smack

How far is that all from you? Are you guys safe?

Fully agree w the first part.

Great to hear that things are moving in the right direction. Also, I call the sunny but freezing days fake sun. Do your Damn job, sun!

Sorry to hear. My daughters' dance teacher has lupus too. Please make sure you take your meds. She couldn't get her script filled bc the pharmacy ordered the wrong stuff & she ended up in the hospital for a while. :(

I'm thinking of picking up one for the front of my coop... Does it still help if it's not covered?

Happy anniversary!
Tarps help block wind even without a roof on the run because most wind blows parallel to the ground. So the wind chill factor gets knocked back. I ended up leaving most of the tarps up over summer because they help provide shade sometimes.

Man bedtime is nutty! Negan has decided he wants to sleep on the babies/low rankers/Hobo side of the coop which is fine but he wants alot of "personal space". Hobo is molting now so she's even a bigger ball of sunshine than usual and she's intent on kicking Beavis's tater. Caught her today just steady pecking her in the head, Beavis just squatted down taking it. Negan does it too but not that long and I know what he's up too.So my coop has a roost of terrified babies and Beavis. A roost of Tucks and Lulu and a roost of Negan on one end and Hobo the other. Marlene and Susan have a peaceful coop side all to themselves, but Marlene still must peck Susan before bed and Susan ends up wedged under Marlene for whatever reason. These chickens make no sense! I tried letting hubs put them up a couple nights....nope. They just lay on the ground and refuse, he'd go to get them and they'd run. He called them the "R" word...i'd be mad but I know it's true.:gig

Mine do that too. I live will be sleeping on the poop board under the 2 white eggers. No idea why, the have plenty of space. I left the 2 Amber links out w the rest. I'm hoping the boys being gone will change to dynamic enough that they won't peck at everyone else. Why do they have to be so.... b!tchy? :barnieI

I went to the barn tonight to get feed for the meat birds. I felt like the pied piper as everyone followed me in including the pigs.

No idea! But the b!tchfest gets really old when its cold outside and the poor food lady would really rather not freeze to death...they don't give two taters.:caf

You're cheating, you were going towards food!:lau

So, I just got a nice adrenaline jolt. I caught a possum on my front porch.

I sent the Milk Drinker up to my parents' house earlier this evening. I went out to go get him and I hear a noise behind me on the porch. I look and it is a good sized possum. In its haste to get away from me, it walked into the wire dog crate we have on the porch (to keep our outdoor cat out of the way when we need to) and was pacing against the back wall trying to get away from me. So, I shut the door on it. I had DH dispatch him forthwith. If he is on the front porch, he doesn't get to live.

DH said he is a good candidate for the Darwin awards.

Good catch Rae!
I would have peed myself! We don't have possum here.
:yesss: And :th

Our 1 to 3 inches of snow looks like 7+ in my yard. Official report says 3.5" . They are incorrect.

A 4 footed thing left prints in the snow in the chicken run today. No casualties. I know where it went in and will fix that in the am. It looks like a kitty is living under my big coop. No prints outside the run or coop.
:hmm
The prints came from a very small gap under the coop and into the run.

Not sure where it went since there aren't prints leading back to the gap......:hmm
