Hendersons chicken chart gives them two eggs per week on average. They are a bit below average

My only layer is laying 0 for week. The other three ladies are too young still

I always hear that about B cochins ......but mine easily lay 5 times a week during laying season. Mine are very good reliable layers. My D'ucclle lays really good sized eggs 5 days a week also. Her eggs are the size of a grocery store large egg....poor girl.....ouch!

Morning all.......I'm back from my vacation and Ohio isn't disappointing me. Sleet this morning.....down to 21 last night. Combination rain and sleet all day today.

Good morning! Beavis is offically a hen! I watched her lay her first egg on the roost first thing when I opened the coop. No pics yet, it is gory so i'm going to clean it up a little. But yay! I got my first grandchicken egg!
