Ugh, you guys, my poor chickens are going through their first molt and it is SO BAD. This is Willow my Brahma bantam. I feel so sorry for her. She really looks uncomfortable and pathetic....

She's like, naked! And she's a really pretty bird normally.

The good news when they molt that hard is they feather in fast.

Poor baby, she is really nekid.

I’m too old to be pregnant and just the words made me feel sick. Especially about the cat!
Bleh!

*shrug* The cat kills critters and eats them regularly. I found out she liked them once when I was taking the innards to the gut bucket and she nearly tripped me while begging for something from the offal bowl.

when I started raising chickens for food I figured I should make room in the deep freezer.
Some of the interesting things i found:
A stillborn hedge hog from the 1980's
several small birds that had hit the window and I was going to try and ID... before the internet
a fawn hide and front hooves from the 1980's and 90's
An eel I had caught back in 1970's

Mom always said to keep the freezer full so it used less electricity I use frozen gallon jugs now

I can die happy now. My hubby keeps looking at me and going "why do you have that stupid ass grin" bc I can't stop giggling.

I hope so, she looks like a freaking naked porcupine. And she keeps standing on one foot, then the other. And her one toenail is curling the wrong way. I thought her toe was twsted around, but it's just a freak toenail. I've never seen such a pathetic chicken.
