Official Squatch Watchers

One of my young cockerels is trying to get his crow, no where near as entertaining as Pat but sounds so pathetic. And, of course, the moment he tries and fails every rooster on the farm has to demonstrate the correct way to do it.

ETA: I bet my neighbors love that...:lau
My BC/Choc Orp cockerels were the funniest things when they first started trying to crow. They sounded like squeaky toys.

How many cockrels are we talking here? Curious as to how much your neighbors love you, i'm betting quite a bit.;)
Negan use to let out this long whine after his crow like cocka doodle ohhhh. I always figured it was him coming to grips with being the boy I kept for the girls.:gig

I had 6 of the banty crosses at one point, now I have one now. I think I have 10-12 LF cockerels at the moment as well my 3 roosters. My neighbor have or have had chickens in the past and the nearest one is 1/8th of a mile away. The guineas were worse, MUCH worse. 4 of them isn't anywhere near as bad as 10.

You know i'd trade Negan's fairly perfect crow just to wake up to Pat's F-it crow. I bet that is just the best thing ever. Sun rising, birds start to sing then F-IT! Not even F-it doodle doo, just F-it. :lau
You think Pat gives lessons Nunny?
You can't really hear them if they are in the coop. Sorta "Did I hear a rooster? No. Must not have."
Outside Pat's voice definitely carries. I was laughing today cause he had a morning practice session. He must have yelled "F__k it!" a dozen times in less then 10 min. Luckily the other boys didn't feel the need to show him how it's done. I don't think I've ever heard Jr crow. It's mostly the white OE. Sometimes the black OE will throw one in. Then Pat..."F__ck it!"
If the neighbors complain I think I'll tell them Pat has tourettes and can't help it.

The 2 OE boys are invited for Christmas dinner this weekend. I hate to see them go but it's better for the flock. Pat is big enough to scare most anything. Clayton wouldn't hurt a fly. And Jr is a rather mellow boy. I hope they all settle in once the other 2 depart.

@Redhead Rae and @rjohns39 .....Is it bad that I expected a much higher number?:gig
:yuckyuck I think Rae and I follow a similar approach, we select our breeders in late winter/early spring, then the rest go to the bachelor pad until the weather is decent for processing. I always miss a few late bloomers, but really hope the number isn't much bigger than that...

I already sent 16 LF Dark Cornish cockerels for processing I probably have 10 more I think I'll do some selection of breeders in the next month or two and maybe try selling the rest. People are willing to drive some LONG distances and pay good money for good LF Darks.
