Well folks, Ham has been found, unfortunately not alive. No sign of the little one who escaped with him. He changed direction. Last time I saw him he was heading up my mountain, heading north east. He apparently turned south and traveled a couple of miles before finding the highway. He was about 10 miles from here when he was hit by a car. My neighbor's friend saw it happen the day before Christmas.
Well that's a bummer. You put so much time and effort into him. So sorry

Well damn, that isn't good news at all. I'd hate to be the person who hit him, he was a lot of pig.

Darn, that stinks.

Well, I've reached out to my lawyers and yes I'm liable for the car damage if they can match him to me. and my farm policy doesn't cover this sort of thing. So as rude as it sounds, the driver can use uninsured motorist coverage and I will remain silent. Am I being a bad person?

Hopefully, they have full coverage. I know that covers hitting animals. Otherwise, that would really stink. I don't blame you for wanting to keep quiet on it.

I'm sorry you couldn't find him in time:(

Based upon the direction he went, I was certain I'd find him on the north side of the property come spring. Have no idea why he went south. There's a ton of good forage on the north side. So much so, eventually I want to move everyone to that side of the mountain. After two+ years of unemployment and an ER visit in VA, which included the ambulance, there simply isn't any more money for another financial hit.

The catch 22 is a friend of someone who knows you saw it happen. They need to keep quiet too.

Was it someone they knew who hit him?
