See?!?! Now, DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to move the Peeps out into the BH Coop, where Xena and the Nuggets just vacated. They are currently in the garage with their MHP set at the lowest setting, and they spend much of their time sitting ON TOP of the tunnel, not under it. So, I figured we'd go ahead and turn the MHP completely off this weekend, and then move them out in a week or 2. He freaks out cause *they're so little* and yet, they've lived billions of years without our interference soooooo....

Can you take pics or video?
Sorry, I didn't. I didn't see your requests before I left.
That is going to be interesting Rae!!
I don't think I could do it myself. I got that tetchy tummy about it. Props to you!
Since I'm used to killing chickens, this wasn't bad at all. They are just bigger.

Well, I got to see the killing of the pig, but didn't get to help at all. I was hoping they were going to scald and scrape the pig, but they skinned it instead. It took FOREVER and so much lovely fat was left on the hide. It was depressing. I wasn't dressed quiet warm enough but I didn't really feel the cold. Something about nursing keeps me running hot. It wasn't until about a half hour ago that I started feeling it. My legs started cramping up something bad and my boobs started telling me it was time to feed a baby. They had just gotten the head off and hadn't even gotten to evisceration yet. Hopefully I can find another pig butcher to participate in at some point.

a wooden box?????
the metal cookie tin is so you don't have as much chance of starting a fire
It will be lined with foil. It is only a light bulb, it is not going to be that close to the wood. Its not my first rodeo. I build wooden boxes covered with hardware cloth for my 250 watt heat lamps. No fires in over 7 years with those!

ERMERGERSH. I've been inside now for about 45-50 min and I almost feel colder than I did when I was outside. I've got a hot pad on on my back and chemical two foot warmers on my chest and hot tea going down my throat. I think I might need to take a hot bath when I get the milk drinker down for a nap.

I am gonna ask for a refund. I have to put it back in the bag too! I poured it in my feed buckets.
:he

Awww RJ, I am sorry. We are warm and toasty here so you are getting our white cold water.

I blame my Hubby. His motorcycle is in the shop getting upgraded so of course we still have riding weather. If it was in the garage we would be 12* and have at least a foot of snow.
