Wow some of ya'll were up LATE!

Love elk and deer. We are blessed to have a neighbor that hunts and is simply awesome!! He brings us elk and deer often. I feel like he overpays for the few eggs he wants in exchange so when I bake or make things like chicken fried steak I take him some.
His twin sons are avid hunters too and had a very successful year. The smaller of the twins got a ginormous elk. It was his first elk and trophy worthy.

Fish are hard to come by here. They all taste like mud and are stocked fish so I don't fish anymore.


I understand panic attacks. Not a thing I ever want to experience again. It happens to me in crowds. Easy enough to avoid most of the year.


Coop poop cleaning today...... Oh goodie! Gonna wait til after it warms up a bit.
Went to get scratch for the girls yesterday. Very disappointed as they were out of the 5 grain stuff. I got a brand I hadn't used before. There is a lot of chopped stalks and crap they cannot eat in it. I will be firing off a letter of "ya'll need to improve" to them.

I agree with Sassy. We need Piggie News!!

Anyone wants to talk anxiety let me know. 20+ years of living with it. Was told it was hormonal and I'd grow out of it. Nope, doesn't work that way. Didn't work for about 10 years until I sought better help. I still have my moments but I am much better prepared now. I need regular medicines and I like to have xanax on hand. Sort of a safety net if sh!t goes way sideways.

Wow! That's good thinking!
But a scary situation.
Do they have anyplace they can run under and hide?
I have a lot of hawks here too but also lots of hiding spots.
And lots of crows and Ravens who seem to HATE the hawks.
Why do the hawks seem to go away when the ravens chase them? Are they afraid?

Not sure why it works, but I invite them to hang around. Lately turkeys have been chasing off the hawks.

Piggies are still building something new every day. They've now got two big nests in different parts of the run and are ordering more straw. When it rained the other day, they did go back into their house, but for the most part they sleep in one of the two nests.

As the chicks are growing, I realize I need more room! What did I do?!?!? Our 20 acres is outlined with trees, woods and hiding places. Nothing really in the middle but an open field. All 3 cockerels are crowing this morning. Unsure about the Silkies, but I am pretty sure 1 is a cockerel.

When do Silkies become sweet and cuddly?? I am not finding this to be the case.

I have had a couple or near panic attacks and realized what was happening. They were super scary!!!

I liked deer prior to birthing a child. Something about pregnancy changed my taste and I don’t like it at all! And hubby brings home 1-2 a year. He sees 20+/weekend, but his group only kills the trophy deer. On his Montana trip he did kill an elk and antelope.

Off to do the gingerbread house with child. I bought 1 for me too!!

I did not find silkies cuddly or friendly at all. I ended up with all males though.
I keep hearing how great they are and simply cannot agree.

Well the sun is finally up. I need to let the ladies out and disappoint them with the crappy scratch.

Someone wrote something once that I found perfectly described a panic attack. It is like permanently hearing the boss battle music in a video game, but never seeing the boss. If you're a gamer, you'll understand the reference.

G'Morning all! Made it all the way to 0749. The boys just HAD to try and get the bubbies to attack me, as today was the first day I was in bed after they were up. The bubbies, of course, do NOT attack *Alpha*. Neener.

Can I just take a minute of everyone's time and give some serious props to our TWO leading men, Sammie and RJ, who don't shy away from ANY topic of discussion?! You guys make me believe there are good men out there....!!! (No shade towards mine or anyone else's DH).
