I know Stacey.

It's our orange kitty too. Totally stinks when I feel like I am running a geriatric facility for dogs and cats.

My sister and her DH are struggling with this decision too.
They have a rescue who has a congenital eye defect where the corneas are too tiny.
One fell inside the eye and caused a very painful type of glaucoma situation.
The eye was removed.
Now it’s happening to the other eye.
The vet thinks she can just make out shadows and light.

She’s not terribly old (8) but she has other serious health factors. I’d describe her as very fragile.

They are divided about removing the remaining eye, but the veterinary ophthalmologist says they need to decide soon.

Often the kindest decision is the hardest.

I am sorry they are in that position with such a young animal.

That's a situation where unless you are living it, I don't think others should give advice.

But,yes "often the kindest decision is the hardest."

Henny, I'm so sorry that your kitty has reached that point. You're an awesome mom to all of your animals, and they love you very much. Yes, 17 is a long life, and I know it has been a very good one.
