Official Squatch Watchers

Nunny, just so you know Meyers has an Asian team come in to sex the chicks, so little gentle hands do the dirty work. Made me feel a tad better, and apparently they know what they're doing too! :)
I was told the "dirt" by the guy I spent over an hour with on the phone when I got the girls.
I asked ALOT of Pat crowed up questions, and guy obliged me.

Holy crap is it cold and windy here!

I just moved my smaller flock (Seramas, crosses, and Flower) into the curbside coop (that DH found) which is set up in the garage.

I moved the big girls into the small coop, because there is a Sweeter Heater in there and it's supposed to get down to -10 with the wind chill. My fingers are just starting to thaw out!

Are we crazy chicken people or what...:lau

PBM, I got lucky last night. We went from 55* to 25* in a little over an hour. After dumping 2.25" of rain through out the day. Then snow and then ice. All the kids were soaked, so we put them in early hoping they would dry off before the temp dropped.

I was terrified to go out and look this morning (after all, how do you dry a couple hundred birds?). In the end I only lost one duck, who chose not to cuddle with the group. I had nightmares of frozen dead chickens. Even though I really can't afford to lose any ducks, I'll still consider this a win.
