Chiky your chlorine discussion got me to thinking... I think I'm gonna start giving the dog filtered water. He's started ignoring his water bowl and drinking exclusively outside. He'd rather drink rain water out of a mud hole, than city water in a clean bowl, of course he does prefer drinking rain water out of a clean bowl or bucket:gig

Not how I pictured old books got that "old book" smell! LOL

People have serious issues .
We actually take a day every year and mist the entire collection w/ urine & also dip dvd, bluray & cd discs in maple syrup.
Seriously though.. we got a dvd set back once that has dried pee inside it. Not sure how or why, but a library had sent it back to us and you couldn't tell until you took out one of the dvds. It was disgusting. I refused to clean it b/c I don't get paid enough for that, one of our managers did it. People are just nasty.

Same thing happened to my cats. We lived in a trailer and the water smelled like swimming pool water. The park had it's own water system and they were super into chlorine... My cats refused to drink it so they got filtered water too. I even give my hammy filtered water.

They just closed our school for the next 2 days. I can't wait to hear all the non parents complain about how kids nowadays are spoiled and how much worse it was when they were kids (walk to school in 6 ft of snow, -50*, up hill both ways with no coat, hat, gloves, or shoes!). Then all the parents who've lived here their entire lives are shocked and surprised that the school is going to be closed & what will they do w/ their kids b/c they've never encountered that before.
It's widely advertised that the school closes when there's wind chills -15*. This isn't new, but people are always surprised about it. The other day we had a 2 hr delay b/c of freezing rain and you'd think they told parents that the school was closed forever for how they acted.

He's a dog! They love manky water! Lol! These crazy chickens drink old bird turd water from the birdbath if I don't change it out real fast.
Got three pristine waterbowls that go through a filter but that turd water always wins.
Not a huge problem this time of year but come spring i'm going to have to relocate the thing and hope the lighter ones don't jump the fence for it.

How dare they be concerned about kids freezing to death walking to school or people getting stranded in sub zero temps and mess up people's free day care...of all the nerve! ;)

Right... then you get the crazies who complain when they don't close school. Apparently they don't get the concept that they are the parent and can choose to keep their child home if they don't want them out.. I've done it. Freezing rain that started after the buses left.. my kids stayed home.

Honestly kids are great but i'm glad I don't have to deal with all the complications that come with them these days.
Use to be if you missed too many days kid just failed or possibly got summer school.
Now they get super p*ssy and threaten the parent..wtf?
Little boy across the road "he's 5" said he'd kill another little boy, school told his grandpa they wouldn't call the authorities this time....he's flippin 5.
