Official Squatch Watchers

That gives me Vertigo just thinking about it
He had a photo album of all the different buildings he helped build that was so neat to see. It wasn't something that wasn't "public" so I would have to ask him to see it. He also had an amazing coin/money collection that I helped him build over the years. Every time I visited or lived in a different country, I'd put together a collection of all the different coins and a few bills and send it to him. That was something the two of us enjoyed together.

Good morning Squatchy peeps!

I've been quiet, but good. Just working, and tired! The daylight savings time messed me up big time this year. I miss you guys! I have a lot of catching up to do. Rae, I've been living vicariously through your adventures, and am so excited for you!

Stacey, you are always in my thoughts...! :hugs

Everyone else, I miss you! :love :hugs

The weather is getting nice (FINALLY) here, yesterday it was in the 60's!! I am dying to get out and garden and spend time with the chooks. :) I've been hanging out with them a little the past couple days. :)

I lost one of my girls two nights ago. No need for sympathy, she was an oddball and my least favorite chicken, my buff Silkie, Phoebe Buffay. She got real lethargic and skinny over a couple of days and I tried TLC and intensive care but she died anyway, I found her in her coop still warm at headcheck. Now I have 15 chickens.

Supposedly a lady is coming to pick up one of my roos today, so then I will be at 14. And with that!!! I am going to a farm today (hopefully) to pick up a couple more d'Uccles and maybe an Egger or Sussex (I always wanted one of them).

Gonna play catch up now!:caf XOXOXOXOX

You guys, I have a weird chicken butthole question.

My Serama hen, Fergus, has a weird looking butthole. I don't have time to take a pic right now, I'll try to over the weekend. It's been for as long as I can remember as she started laying (she turns 1 year old tomorrow! Hard to believe! My hatch from @WVduckchick 's Serama eggs and my first ever hatch). It doesn't seem to bother her, but it hurts my eyes, lol.

It's like...she's a little bald around there and it always looks...not swollen exactly, but poofy around her vent. Maybe a little red. Like she's pooping out some eggs that are bigger than what she's built for. She doesn't mess with it.

I know a picture is really needed and I will send soe! But in the meantime, just throwing it ou there for you more experienced chicken peeps. :) Thanks!

:frowHi @Anansi

I see you working through the pages.

I’ve been up with my cat.
Waiting for the vets to open at 8 am eastern.

He put him little arm under the stove while I was doing the dishes after dinner (piece of dog cookie shot under there) like under the warming drawer, and sliced the helllllllll out of it.

I looked over and he was just sitting there with a perplexed look on his face holding his arm way up high while the blood ran everywhere.

I got the bleeding to stop.
Cleaned it. Neosporin-ed it. Gauze. Then wrapped it with vet wrap.

Fun fact. The 3M brand vet wrap I recently bought from chewy.... it’s worthless.
Hardly sticks.

I’ve literaly been holding him and wrestling with him all night because everytime I let go of him he tears off the bandage and goes at the gash which is all the way open.

Pretty sure he’ll need a couple of stitches or a good glue job.
AND DEFINITELY A CONE OF SHAME!!!!!!!:he
DH wasn’t up to the task of holding for any procedures.

If there’s blood involved, or you can “see the inside” he’s not available to assist.:th

Can definitely “see the inside” of this kitty’s arm.:hit
Poor kitty! I felt badly that i stepped on Kiss's tail last night. Pretty hard to work on something like that by yourself! The leg will need to be shaved so the wound can be closed . Maybe your hubby needs a blindfold, or a kick in the pants!:lau

Morning folks :frow And thanks :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

Stacey, you asked for a story. So here goes... Even as a young infallible teen... I had my limits. He was working on the sears tower in Chicago and I had an opportunity to visit the job site. I immediately declared the man was crazy. He was an iron worker and did high work up until he was in a bad car accident that messed up his equilibrium. So, he'd lash a 3/8" cable around an I beam step up on it and the crane would lift him hundreds of feet into the air. He'd step off the I-beam onto one already attached to the structure and have a seat. Then the crane would maneuver the beam back to him. He'd put in two bolts and then shimmy out to the end and wait for the next one. He liked the hazardous duty pay for doing the high work. And apparently, he was very good at it.
:eek::eek::eek::th

Poor kitty! Definitely duct tape the heck out of that drawer.
Well the cat is at the vets waiting to be stitched up. They were getting slammed this morning.
They said they’d call when he’s ready to be picked up.

Meanwhile, I came home and pulled out the drawer, cleaned the heck out of the underneath with workgloves on, then used my fingertips to survey where all the sharp areas were. (Dang. Practically everywhere)
Then I wrapped two layers of tape on every bit of exposed edge.

The crazy thing is that the wound is technically not on what you’d think of as the topside of his arm but the tender underneath.
So as far as I can tell, it wasn’t getting his arm under there that was a problem, but fishing around and withdrawing it that got him into trouble.

When I was done, I had DH get down on the floor too and double check my work to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. Think we are good now.
