Official Squatch Watchers

View attachment 1709486 Just a thought while it’s in my head.
Apparently there’s a whole new realm of stuff in the cat aisle in response to either how picky cats can be OR how crazy cat owners can be but for whatever reason I am SO GLAD!
...because I am having a dickens of a time getting this cat to eat.

He is refusing ALL dry food
And only picking at his canned food and mostly mastering the “I’m the most depressed cat in the universe” look.

So here is the array.

All of which he’s given the thumbs up to, thank goodness, otherwise he was going back to the vet tomorrow for sub-q fluids.

No he doesn’t have a fever.
His wound looks good and there’s evidence of granulation taking place.

He still hates (practically refuses) walking around with his head inside a satellite dish -so he just holds still and cries to be held :hitor sits in his hind legs like a ground hog and misses playing with the dog who wants to rescue him from the satellite dish btw, but in a very rough manner.
5 days down/ 8.5 to go. But who’s counting?
That's new. I looked for something like that when Jasmine was sick last spring and it did not exist. We either blendered her food or mixed it w/ water and smashed it up. They had this one stuff that she would eat fairly well. it was small enough that she could lick it up.

Not snow clouds I hope. :fl

We are forecast for rain/snow mix this afternoon. :hmm
Then into the mid 70's next week.
:D
We've got snow right now. Big fluffy flakes, but they were melting upon impact last time I saw a window.

Beautiful!!!!

The last little bit of Klaus' toe scab fell off overnight. it looks pretty good. I'm hoping I can reintroduce her to everyone else tomorrow.
And I'm finally done w/ my egg withhold so now we get to start keeping eggs again. (except Klaus b/c of her antibiotics)...
I got 4 egger eggs the other day so they're all laying, plus my 2 pullets, and ash. I think 4 of my brown layers are laying. Jackie typically doesn't lay normal eggs, so it seems everyone is back in production.
I have an egger who laid an egg in the run, but I can't get to it, and Ash has started laying her eggs in the side area that I have to crawl to get into.. I'm hoping she doesn't have an ideas about being broody right now.

Good morning! Sunny and clear here but still a tad chilly i'll take it though.
Hubs is off grinding stumps and i'm hanging out in my plant room, warm in here lol! The LED light seems to be doing a bang up job so far, i'm impressed!
Made myself a little hangout in here with the plants, its nice they're so quiet.;)

So, DH is prepping the car for our trip to his Grandmother's birthday party weekend. So he left Thing 1 up with my mom since she hasn't seen him the last 2 days (church one night and they didn't get back until late from a feed run last night) and she won't see him until Monday. So, they were in the garage mixing some horse feed for this evening when she sees our outdoor cat, Sylvie, streak out of the garage. Thing 1 starts chanting "Kitty got mouse, kitty got mouse..." and hands my mom a dead vole. Apparently she was bringing her catch in the garage to consume it and Thing 1 intercepted her and took her prize away. My mom called to tell me what happened and said she washed his hands really well and I hear Thing 1 in the background say "Yucky mouse".

Aww poor Sylvie, didn't even get to taste it good.:p

That's so sad Stacey. Poor kitty. The cone must make his head weigh a literal ton!

I know you are giving him breaks from his cone to potty. Is he still mopey when it's off?

Can you try giving him a bit of boiled chicken? It worked on my kitty. She had to get fixed from being fixed. Apparently she was allergic to the future suture material. She spent 3 weeks in cone head mode.
It’s all cone related. But thankfully he’s “himself” when it’s off.
In order for the cone to stay on he’s wearing a puppy harness too-which the cone is anchored to. Doesn’t allow for much freedom of movement. Not that it’s not flexible. It is. It’s just soft mesh fabric. Lol.
He just THINKS he can’t move in it.

I’m giving him breaks for which he’s grateful but first I have to vet wrap his arm or he goes after the stitches immediately.

Its in such an easy to nibble spot. I literally can’t trust him for 1 second. He looks me right in the eye and squints at me as he then tries to pull the vet wrap off
(Which he’s done a few times Lickety-split just by hooking a fang into it and yanking)

But if I put my fingers over it he’ll either just lick me furiously or focus on grooming other areas.

He also appreciates the litte slicker brush so I’m doing that a few times a day all over too. Who doesn’t like a good scratch?!

He was hungry this morning and ate almost an entire small cat of wet food. So that was a big win. Oddly he doesn’t really seem to like “people food” and turns his kittykat nose right up at chicken!
