Another option for correction for people who don't like choker collars and shock collars are martingales, which combine a regular collar with the capability of tightening without getting too tight, and a remote citronella spay collar, which is an owner controlled version of the bark collar. It has a beep for warning or reminding, and two settings for the spay. You can also find head harnesses that are a lot looser than the ones in the store, and in different styles, on Amazon.
We use all 3, plus several types of regular harnesses depending on the reason we take the dogs with us and where we're going. Bailey, our Chihuahua, uses a martingale when we go out and plan on taking him someplace that he goes to as a therapy dog, otherwise it's a harness. Trixie is DD#3s service dog and wears a head harness while out in public working because even though she's only 12 lbs, she can pull like a 40 lb dog. She's Chihuahua/Springer Spaniel. When it and not working, she's on a harness. LT, our Anatolian Shepherd/Border Collie is on a harness unless we're going someplace for the day where there may be a lot of other dogs coming within a few feet from us. In that case, we add a head harness, the remote citronella collar, and I run the leash through his normal collar so that my hand is right up against it. His fur is too thick for a static collar, it never worked with him. I also let people know he is not dog friendly before they get close enough for their dog to cause an issue due to being on too long of a leash. I make sure I have complete control at all times and refuse to let DDs handle him in situations where someone else may not necessarily be responsible about keeping their dogs under their control. LT has never gone up to another dog to cause an issue because I don't allow it, and I keep him under complete control and warn other owners so that if anything does happen, we did everything required to inform them, and the resulting situation is their fault. If we aren't walking, he is lying down and doesn't have enough leash to get more than 2 feet of he tries to lunge. When walking he can only get 18" away from me. I am very strick with him and he does a good job. What I hate is when people assume every dog is dog friendly and let their dog have the full length of the leash, which averages 10' on retractables. I've actually taken LT to dog days put on by local shelters, and had no issues with him. I had people tell me if he's not dog friendly why is he there. My response is because I have complete control of him and I'm letting people know as they approach and move of to the side of there are a lot of them. He caused no issues, while I watched several dogs snapping at each other while at full length on retractables leashes with the owners not paying attention. Everyone assumed all the dogs would get along, and responsible owners should know that isn't the case and should be paying attention to what their dog is doing. People have even let their dogs come up to Trixie, who prefers not to be approached be other dogs and walks behind DD#3 or me in that situation, even when it is clearly marked that she is a service dog and do not pet. There again, the humans without dogs don't pay attention either, or don't believe she's a service dog because of her size.

Ok, done.
