The school attendance thing is a numbers=funding levels, and not everyone needs to be there every day to learn. That said, most kids actually do need to attend daily in order to learn because of their learning style and level of self motivated learning. We would go on 3 week vacations during the school year when I was a kid. We'd take a note to the teacher asking for 3 weeks of school work, get all of our books and assignments and come back on track or ahead of the rest of the class. Nobody ever had any issues with it back then. If we did that now the school would be trying to take us to court.

They have something in the handbook to try to avoid missing school for vacations and such, but they understand that things happen and if that's the case you need to give notice & get all assignments before you leave, then they need to be completed when you return, not extra time to finish them after you get back. I had a friend take her son to Disney last fall and they did that. He did the work on the drive down and finished up on the way back.

So, I got Henrietta situated. During the day, I have had her in a detached pen. The baby chicks seem to be very fond of her and spend their time around her when they are out. She slipped through her attached pen and wanted to stay with Dorothy and the babies. It broke my heart to put her back on her side.
Dorothy and the chicks are to her right and the others are on the backside. I have the chicks food where Henny can get to part of it and I saw her eating when they were eating. She wanted to go to the coop and sleep with everyone else and seemed lost but she finally got in her warm doggy box when it was dark. I wrapped the doggy box with plastic and taped it down to keep the wind out. I also put a piece of foam, heating pad and doggy pads down. Tomorrow the low is 45. She has lost most of her long raggedy feathers, now all the small, soft ones on her undercarriage are coming out. They amount of feathers she has growing back in is unreal! That poor chicken was half bald.

Sounds like she's doing a lot better at this point. That'll help you feel less worried during your trip. I have a couple who are STILL doing their fall molt. It's the longest molt ever. Klaus finished hers up when she was confined for her toe, but the other 3 still have raggety feathers. William molted, but his wing feathers are so damaged.

Sassy, maybe she's depressed they do get depressed. But like Henny said being around the others perked her up a little bit. Maybe you could start giving her some visitation time? Couldn't hurt at this point, right?

I have to see how to word it so it's not red flagged. FB doesn't want you selling animals. Even in the farming groups. But I see it ALL the time.

What you do is post it as a discussion post. Put picture(s) of the animal, describe age, breed etc and say more info in the comments. Then you type out the full number of the price (fifteen instead of $15) and location.

That's the problem I had, fb kept removing it, I'd even had mine up for free, but it kept getting taken down. I gave up and put mine on craigslist.

Its because you put it up as a sale post, not a discussion post. I think they have an automatic thing that flags any sale posts with animals in them.

Good morning! Raining, so i'm stuck inside with the kids, won't be too bad since these eat themselves into a food coma.
MIL struck about 11:30 last night, she called frantic because the druggie granddaughter got arrested i'm shocked it took this long.
Apparently she was walking on the side of a major highway in the freaking dark with her half naked son " boy is two, she was walking him balls out." Then to top it all off she lied about who she was and who fathered the boy and basically showed her a**, so charge number two. Sooo as of right now MIL has the boy, but boy's father isn't happy at all about it. I can't blame him, MIL is awful to him because druggie girl lies about him.
