I don’t think Marek’s would make her not eat. Marek’s usually shows as paralysis. You can have her tested for it.

Not eating I would say is stress.

That’s about it. If you think there is an egg stuck or broken in her you can feel for it. But giving her extra calcium is about the only way I know of to firm up egg shells.
Thanks Nunny. DH checked the egg chute and didn’t feel anything. Should I keep giving her extra calcium for a couple days???

gorgeous!!!

Now I am wondering if Henrietta has Marek’s, or something else. I mean, why would she not eat enough to fill her crop?
They eat good with Marek's Sassy it dosent effect their appetite.

Hey all, I need your advice. I think my buff Cochin is laying soft shell and/or shellless eggs. I have been sick lately and haven’t been as attentive to the birds as usual. Today I finally got to cleaning the poop trays and found two yolks patches. I think it was the buff because she as moving slow today and kept going in and out of the different boxes. But all she left when she was finally done was a wet patch :(

I gave her an epsom soak and some calcium. What else can I do???
Yougart a couple times a week, gives some calcium and keeps the balance in the lady area while she's laying those weird eggs.

that's true Chickassan. My friend lost 3 birds in a row- day apart. The couldn't stand up but would eat well if she hand fed them. Lost a serama hen first, next day silkie hen, and last the other serama hen. They were all 5 year old house chickens. But she only let the silkie outside because she wouldn't fly away. I think the silkie brought Marek's to the other two.

For real??!!?? OMG!!!! That is nuts (in my "I wasn't there" opinion).
SMH!!

Oh dear. Were you moving big birds?
I once had chicken poop on the seat of my car while it was still newish. :sick not fun.

Ooohhhhh!!! Nice! :yesss:

Still really hard to see. :hmm

I did notice most of the pink tulips did not come up. I lost hundreds of tulips this winter. :(
I find tulips don't last like daffodils.
