Official Squatch Watchers

I was wondering....do any of you notice that your chickens lay a tad bit less when its gloomy and rainy for days on end? Maybe it's just a coincidence?
It is likely the weather. They slow down here when it is over 105F

Mine are weird, they have the whole yard and alot of places to stay dry besides the coop. If it rains though all the girls pile in the coop and either lay or cheerlead the layers.
I get less eggs when it is sunny.:)

I wish. I'm getting buried in eggs here.
:smackI was getting 3 a day, now down to 1, possibly 2. I need Dorothy to gets these babies raises and started laying again. I should be in business for my friends when the standard all staying laying.

I need to add another run. What was I thinking getting 5 more hens, standard size. Let me smack myself :smack

Mine slow down when its gloomy or when its hot. Cold I wouldn't know cause they've generally stopped laying by the time it gets cold here. My three year olds must have heard me talk about processing them... They're all laying daily.
:gig:gig:gigNothing like a little motivation.

I have given up counting. Between the turkeys ducks and chickens I get probably 40 plus. Almost all are fed back to the birds here. We actually don't eat many eggs, and in not interested in selling them.

I wouldn’t know. Does it feel like an Easter egg hunt every day? The fun kind?
It can be! It depends on how far they range. Growing up, we would find their nests about a quarter of an acre around the orchard
