X2I love me some kittys!!
Oh gosh I can't even begin to imagine the amount of money I spent on crickets at the pet store back in the day when my DD had her pet frogs!I was just reading a link about chicken boredom busters.. it says live crickets.. Has anyone let loose live crickets in their coop?

Yuck!We bred crickets for a while when I had anoles. It was nasty, stinky work.
We only had a few escapees and only did it for 3 months before giving it up as a bad job. We decided instead to by teeny-tiny crickets (because the pet store we went to sold crickets by weight, so we got more crickets) and fed them on food scraps for a couple of weeks before feeding them to the lizards.Yuck!
I sure wouldn't want a thousand of them to get loose in the house!
My husband would have killed me!
That's what I did too! They had their own little aquarium to fatten up in.We only had a few escapees and only did it for 3 months before giving it up as a bad job. On the hopefully NEW jobI just had a meltdown and work and started crying. Had to go sit in the back for awhile and sob.
My boss (who is not even really my boss) is a nasty, evil thing. I can't believe I lost it.
Another hour and a half and I'm outta here. I really, really hope I hear back from that job soon.
