DH and I were at the pet store yesterday to buy mealworms for Tad and a few shrimp to add to the aquarium. There were so many beautiful birds!!! I wanted to adopt one...or all of them :oops: Maybe some day.

Don't adopt an African Grey unless you are ready for a long term commitment. Dylan, the grey in my avatar, is 25 and could live to 60+. I am at least her 3rd owner.

Oh I know. Parrot adoption is a very big commitment in many ways! And it definitely isn’T in the cards for us right now. They sure are amazing creatures though.

Even a starter parrot, a cockatiel, lives 20-25 years. That is why I got Dylan, she was older and need a forever home. She could still outlive me! The granddaughter loves her, she is assured a home in our family for her lifetime.

She is a lucky bird to get such a loving forever home.
