I have watched the local coyote cross my yard here regularly, sometimes in the afternoons. Like a dog, like he owns the place. Electric fence and more hardware cloth is in order before spring chickens!
Close works when cold and snow are the subject! Cold flows down hill so just below the mountain can be colder (and frost your garden) than higher up! Prescott is in the mountains, lots of rock, pine & juniper trees, and cold! I am trying hard to find a sunny spot to plant a tomato!But I am not IN the mountains.

Ditto on that. Been to Alaska, left in Sept. before school started, & the snow was already flying. Just barely made it.I just thank goodness I am not in North Dakota.
