It is tough to pick a time to retire. Waiting until Social security kicks in is a consideration and for me, when Medicare kicks in. It would cost me a big chunk of retirement to pay for health insurance for the Family until age 65
Yeah, insurance is important & not cheap. I work w a guy who retired when the hospital he did IT for restructured & his boss retires. The new boss didn't really know what he was doing & he didn't feel like dealing w/ it. He retired & works here part time doing delivery. He gets insurance through the ACA market place. My work doesn't offer insurance to part time people. I should be able to retire at 57, but it's so far in the future I've not even looked at anything since it'll all likely changed before then.

Last night I went in the coop to clean up poop & check on Ziva and I opened the door and I only had 2 white birds. Thinking she was dead I checked the run. She was under the porch area cold and wet. I still thought she was dead, but when I shook the feed can she came out, but just stood there & didn't go inside even though I tried to lure her in. She moved towards where the run door was so I got out the drill & opened the side enough to get her out (of course I couldn't get one of the screws out). I set her in the coop & she just stood there. It was dark so I didn't expect her to do much moving around, but she stayed in one spot. I got the run closed back up and took her inside. The pic is her soaking. She just stood there in the warm water and kept falling asleep. I cleaned the poop and mud off of her and let her warm up in there for about 45 min, then took her out to blow dry her. She seemed to like having the warm air on her. I couldn't keep her inside, but I fed her some treats and got her dry and warm before I took her back out. I'm hoping the soaking has helped w/ whatever was wrong w/ her. Her crop was empty, but I couldn't tell if she had been out since the day before or just yesterday. I had checked on them earlier on Sunday b/c I had stuff I needed to work on at the studio & didn't get done until late. I know she was inside the day before b/c she was eating some of the bread my brother had given them. It's getting really cold here today. I hope she's able to recover, but after what happened w/ Abby I don't expect much.

I am hoping she is ok. :fl

A few better pics of the collars I make.

They are 1.5" wide so pretty big really.

In other news.....

My old dog is not doing well. He has been losing control of all 4 limbs which sends him careening like a 105# battering ram as he tries to regain control.
It is super dangerous to him and everything/everyone around him.
:( His time is short. I knew it was coming but it still sucks duck butter.
Oh no, I hate when that happens!:hugs

Well today got weird.

I managed to get angry puppy bitten. :hmm
Yup angry growly puppy bit me and drew blood.
Tilly was eating, puppy shoved her head in there, I went to move puppy to the other dish. Apparently that was less than appreciated.
Both dishes had the same food in them.

Never been bit by an angry puppy before....truth....the only dog ever to bite me was a chihuahua.

In the future I will have puppy in her playpen before putting additional dishes down.

Totally ridiculous.
