What a survivor she is!

Do you think it was the neighbor and poison in hamburger?

No. She swallowed a round rock measuring 1.5" in diameter. It traveled her entire GI tract causing acute hemorrhagic diarrhea syndrome.

Basically it tore her up enough to cause severe hemorrhaging. While in the hospital she aspirated vomit causing aspiration pneumonia.

She was literally on death doorstep and had rung the bell.
:th

I still don't trust the neighbors though.

Look into a desert chameleon. They are some that live on the Sahara.

Interesting... we always used ginger ale in the Christmas tree.

He looks like he is wearing bell bottoms in that first picture! How is the bed and breakfast you were going to start?

Sorry Apryl. Its never easy and I hate not having answers. Don’t use the Valbazen if they are molting. You can have a sample checked for worms. Then decide if you want to worm and with what.
Hi Nunny. Yes he does look like he has bellbottoms on. We have jokingly been calling him Bells. We are still working on our guest house. It's been ALOT of work. I spent the summer working on the exterior. Painting, landscaping, planting grass etc. We are making progress though. We were lucky to discover beautiful hardwood floors under the carpet. We are having shiplap put up through the whole house and we are working on the bathroom right now. The kitchen will be last. We do have a name for it though....The Ivy Cottage Guest House. Hope to be open by March 1st

We lost three cats in a short time to what might have been poison--kidney failure-- We do not let the cats out any more

I am sorry to hear that Ron. Losing any pet is hard. Harder when it is unexpected. :hugs
Kidneys....that sounds like antifreeze. Poor kitties.
The neighbors that likely did the poisoning have moved but I still do not trust them outside any more

I have developed a real lack of trust for humans over the years. :hmm

I guess that is why I like my dogs so very much. No deceit in their nature. Iffin a dog does not like you they make it real clear real quick.

Sounds exactly like having chickens.

Thanks, I'll probably take up a sample for a fecal float on Friday when i have the day off. It's xmas recital time and every evening for the past week has been at the studio & same for this week, until Friday. If I can get them treated this weekend, I'll be happy. I was picking up feather this weekend and found a bug on one.. not sure if it's a mite or what, but I didn't have time to check butts. I also just bought a bale of straw & it's in the coop so I'm going to be ticked if there's an infestation of any kind. Of course all of my friendly(ish) white birds are gone so now I have to flip over a meanie that hates being picked up and dig around in her butt feathers for bugs. Good times.

How's your flock been doing (without jinxing yourself)?

That's beautiful! Is it a gift or for your home?

Great news! Does that mean she's all better & recovered, or does she still need to take it easy?
I usually give away the quilts I make to relatives. One wall hanging for MIL and one for SIL.

I went to Lynchburg today to buy this 100+ year old piece of furniture. I just love it!
