It is worth a try for sure. I found my wide tongue depressers...I have fleece and vet wrap.
I will have to cut her leg feathers short or make them lay flat to try it.

I may have a metal finger splint.....that could be easily formed to fit.

She needed a boost to the roost last night and then help off it this morning. I won't boost her up again since she cannot get down on her own.

I will have to wait til my son is home for help holding her.

I cleaned the coop today and tried to combat the mud in the run some. I broke up some of the million pine branches I have and layed those down. Then put some wood chips down on top of those. I need to get a truck load of chips delivered.

I agree the finger splint wouldn't take it. Cinders is unwillingly wearing the tongue depresser rig. Currently in the far corner of the coop.

We will see if she tolerated it in the morning.

You can always find a small 90 degree bracket at the hardware store, then wrap it in fleece, glue the fleece so it doesn't come off, and that is a rigid splint.

We were hoping for that here too since it's been spring off and on for weeks, but now it looks like winter is making a fashionably late appearance.

Hopefully things continue to move towards normal. DH is feeling a good bit better and is working on catching up on laundry. We've been living out of baskets for the last few weeks.
