Hi guys!

First day of my two week vacation to clean out our old house and I’m finding it hard to stay motivated. DH is getting better but still out of it. At least he is able to get up with the boys now and let me sleep a bit more. Last night was a bit miserable for me because we moved the Milk Drinker’s crib out of the side car configuration (set up in the toddler bed configuration with the mattress level with my bed surface) because he has started doing this.

Not safe. Now his crib is set up as a full crib away from the bed with rails all the way around.

The plan today is to catch up on a lot of stuff that was put to the side while DH has been sick to make room for dealing with the stuff we will be bringing up from the old house. I’m glad we aren’t going to be hauling anything up here today because this is what it looks like outside right now.

@Kiki
Good luck w/ getting the other place cleaned up. I hope it doesn't take you the whole 2 weeks.

Morning Bob and Chicky!

Another dark morning here. :hmm

Cinders is doing a lot better. She is still limping and not able to roost. She is however not limping nearly as bad and is able to go out with everyone. I would call it a slight limp at this point.

Today's plan......washing walls, sorting through existing seeds, order new seeds and maybe set up my seed starting station.
The lights were hard to adjust last year. I think I will redo how that is handled this year.
Glad to hear she's doing better.
It's funny that you're talking about starting seeds when we JUST got our first real snow here that's lasted more than a day.

So Friday night a woman at Aldi's pointed out that my tired was low. I aired it up & and the next morning it was low again. Too busy to mess w/ it so I spent the weekend going to the gas station every night to air it up for the next day. Went to Walmart where I had it put on to get it check yesterday since I was off.. their air compressor was down since the day before. I got up there this morning & they fixed the problem.. when I got new tires on the 1st they didn't replace the valve stem & it was leaking. Thankfully they fixed it for free so hopefully my tire issues are over.
It's cold and snow here. It's nice that winter finally graced us w/ it's presence, though I could do w/o the actual cold & snow. Birds are ok & the coop is staying relatively warm. It was a whole 20 degrees Sunday afternoon & 30 yesterday evening. We'll be back above freezing soon. Still a yoyo situation, but at least it's not 70 to 30 anymore.

Good you were able to get it fixed free. When my tires leak it's usually a nail or something causing a slow leak.

I am still about 6 weeks from being able to start seeds. I mostly want every I checked for function and to fix my adjusters for the light heights.
Getting seeds ordered early should ensure they are here when I need them. :p
We usually get dumped on in March and April. I am brave and plant just before mothers day.

Glad she's on the mend, it just takes a while she's fighting cold, age, and weight "same stuff we all have to" lol!
What kind of lights do you use Henny? I took a cutting off my one tomato plant last year since it was such a fighter and set it up under those curly CFL bulbs and hoped for the best...
iv'e got a knee high plant now and ive topped it twice so those seem to do just fine.
Im pretty impressed 2 100 watt equivalents that run 30 watts were plenty to carry it through.:)

Ugh, winter is the worst time for tire problems with the cold bringing down pressure anyway.
Glad you got it fixed before any disasters hit. ;)

That's what I was worried about b/c I had just gotten a brand new tire on the 1st, but I was also worried that I'd damaged the rim b/c I'd driven on it when it was pretty flat before that (right before I got the tired replaced). It wasn't completely flat though & the tire still had a seal, but I was preparing myself for worst case senario.

That makes me feel a lot better. They keep saying Spring is just 2 months away and it sure doesn't seem like it since it just got cold here.

I had the disaster part when I got the tire replaced. I'm guessing the valve stem was the problem when I got the new tire. I did tell them that the tire was flat after I spun out, but I guess they probably assumed what I had & that the tire probably had something in it, but it sounds like the valve stem was the problem back then too. I did need new tires anyway, but the guy even said today that it should have been changed when I got the tire replaced.

I have several 4' dual bulb fluorescent fixtures. I run daylight bulbs and they do pretty well.
This year I have to set it up in my indoor bird room.....:fl That it does not trigger the 18 year old cockatiel to lay. I have to keep her in a dim room to prevent it. She would lay til it killed her. Poor thing.

We are certainly not feeling like spring with COLD mornings and grey skies.

I am glad your tire is fixed. I have one going low on me pretty regularly. I know it is from the temperature swings. It is just annoying as all get out!

At this rate, it is going to. Today is Tuesday and I haven’t even set foot in the old house yet. 🤦‍♀️

So far today, we went through the bins I brought up to the house before I got sick. They’ve become een sitting on my back porch this entire time. Most of the boxes had bulk spices and one box of Pyrex. After we consolidated all the spices, we found about 10lbs of cinnamon. My MIL kept buying more of it when she couldn’t find it. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I’m thinking I’m going to clean up from the unboxing and clean my bathrooms this afternoon. Maybe we can get to working on the house tomorrow.

Good gravy, 18 and still laying when she can...poor thing is right!
Birds get the sh*t end of the stick as much as we do, poor birds.:(
I went out to count heads and everybody looks ok except for Lulu, she's puffed up under a tree pouting.
Girl does not like cold weather, never has despite being the poofiest out there.
She gets downright antisocial lol!
Hobo was on the nest and shot me a look that was just pure evil, that hen is over me and my nest peeking.
I do not fish eggs out from under her, I wait patiently only took one time to teach me too.
I know she's pleased.😒
