Official Squatch Watchers

There is a local artist in town my husband is friends with. His art is super expensive, but I just sent him an email to see if he would paint Sesame and asked for a price. He paints wild life, civil war, wild west and portraits. Maybe he will paint a chicken?? :fl we get a friendship deal if he will.
That would be awesome

Nope, but he'll flash soon I've ordered more lights so I'm going to pop his head off and give him a little more dazzle he's got plenty of space.:)
That is one flashy rooster!

Do the lights blink?

Neither of them are done with stink eye yet. The floor comforter is in the wash, the towels are next. Now that they have calmed down I will put their bed back.

Here is Flashy,he's still living inside because i haven't found the extension cord and his actual cord is maybe 8 inches long. :)View attachment 1212330
That's the one I want to get at TSC. My DH looked at me like I was crazy. I said 'What??? Isn't it awesome?" He said "Oh good Lord....you are a crazy chicken lady"

I just realized i went out to feed the girls and scoop poop and only did half of it because i got distracted. Fed the girls and the roo and was missing one so i went looking, found her dirtbathing alone so full of dirt she couldn't get up. Got her up "made her mad!" Btw faverolles puff and stomp when angered i did not know that! Got her back to the flock, fed her came in forgot all about the poop...:(

Well, I've actually gotten a few things accomplished today. I kicked the roosters out the the coop and moved our smallest mobile coop into their run. I will be doing in 2 or 4 of the roosters in the next week or so so that should reduce the pressure. The 6 of them currently have have 59 sqft of covered area to shelter from weather and another 140 or so uncovered. I ran an electric cord out to the coop for the heater plate. I still need to add the plate to the coop as well as feed and water dishes, but that should be easy. I also added fresh bedding and turned it. That was a dusty job. I probably should have worn at least a bandanna over my face but didn't think it through before I went out there. I threw some fresh hay into the run for the roosters as well. They are having a grand old time picking through it.

Since today is day 20, I've been checking the eggs periodically. Both of my broody hatches hatched on day 20. To look at the eggs I use my cellphone or candler to shine a light through the side to look to see if any of the eggs have rolled or moved out of position. No movement yet (that I can see).

Been talking with my son.
I told him we were looking at getting a new puppy.
He has also been looking. He misses his dog something fierce.
He has contacted a local breeder about another malamute. This one seems more reputable.
:fl

I think I will hold off until he hears if they are planning a litter.
The Mal is of course still an option. We certainly all feel the void.
