Poor thing also needed hobbles because one leg was splayed.
I use shelf liner in the brooder. Its machine washable so even if they poop all over it its still good. Usually a day or two on the shelf liner and no hobble is needed.

I've got a baby. The dropped egg didnt make it and the other egg that I put in lockdown doesn't look promising (the air cell is drawing down). Poor baby will have to be alone until Wednesday/Friday when I have some guineas due to hatch.
Sorry Rae, I hate single babies. They are so lonely.

The incubator has a plastic mesh liner. But, I guess that isn't enough to keep them from going splay legged. I did opt to put paper towels under the mesh this time because the water tray under the mesh is a royal pain in the butt to clean.

I use vet wrap for my hobbles. It works really well.

So I got a present for myself... View attachment 2086971

And I have another sorta project....

Its still on the trailer in my back yard. Getting it down is going to be...fun...scary...complicated.

🤗 I love that white coop!!
The dark one has a good sized run and great windows too!

Super Awesome!!
