Official Squatch Watchers

Eww! Im walking away if they start poopin in there, that is way past my limit lol.

The two silky hens I have are constantly in the nest box and they poop in there. It's disgusting.

Oh no, you do not get to duck broody season with ducks!
The duck brooder in the big coop has thankfully upset the broody chi enough that I have zero broody this year.....so far.

:wee

:hit

Both keets are dead and one of the Cornish chicks is half dead. I moved the chick to the incubator after giving it some water and NutriDrench. I don't know what is wrong with my guineas this year. Maybe I need a different gene pool.... The one chick being weak isn't a surprise. It started out a bit small anyway.

A funny thing happened this morning and I have to share with someone. The chicks are getting their first real taste of summer weather in the desert this week. So I have been putting a waterer full of ice water in the run each morning. They love the ice water! But of course, being chickens they kick a lot of dirt into it and DH suggested that we should find a base to put it on to help keep the water fresh and mud free. I agreed but haven't thought much about it since. Well, this morning I go out there to find that DH has placed the waterer in the center of a large cloth napkin. Very chic, very thoughtful...and utterly terrifying to baby chicks :lau Poor things were mortally afraid of the yellow napkin of doom. I removed it of course, and 5 minutes later they were all fighting for their spot at the water fountain. Gotta love chicks and their tolerance for change :gig

Well, atleast he tried!

I think there is something wrong with the chick, internally. It's skin and bones covered in down and it has nothing in its crop. At least it isn't a problem with my brooder.
:hugs
Aww poor chicky

Ok, this morning I thought I heard a 3rd broody hell screech and one of the trips was on a nest but being morning I ignored/cursed springtime and forgot all about it.
Weeell, come to find out my 3rd banshee is Stacey and she's evil like bitey, puffy, flappy evil.
Guess what? She full tilt craps not only in the box but during the flappy fits too!
Wow, Cappy jinxed me. :lau
