I've saw some people talk about fermenting quail food to feed them. But I don't really know anything about that. Be afraid I'd do something wrong.

I’ve read into it but like DanielE says, I’d be afraid I’d botch it somehow. I recently tried sprouting seeds for feed, like rye, and it just didn’t turn out. I didn’t even feed it to anyone, not even the chickens.

I have a cross beaked hen several years old. I make wet feed each morning to give to the flock. I don't ferment it I just wet it. All the hens act like it is the best treat ever.

How old were they?

I think they were 3-4 years old. They were smaller than my full grown zebra (who was 3.5 in) when I got them.

I do that for the chickens when it is hot. they love wet food.
