:frow Good afternoon Nunny, have a great day

Daniel I hope the other is negative as well :hugs

Henny, drive safe

Got the doin done without to much hassle. Traffic is stupid....or rather the drivers are.
I got a red feed scoop at the feed store on route. I am going to retrain them to red then transition to a (free) coffee can.
Costco had a nifty tower fan for $20. It moves a decent amount of air and is far quieter than a box fan. I like it!

That feed store had cute tiny birdies in. No I did not buy any.....but I did watch them for several minutes.

My eyes are burning from all the smoke outside. It smells like sitting in the smoke path at a campfire. Not good....not good at all.

Good new everyone.
First quail eggs.

I know, the Tractor Supply near us had little ones 2 for 1 yesterday when I went to buy more feed. There was a huge pallet of chick feed by them, dated 7-2-20. In the back on the shelf where they always keep the chick feed, the date was 7-20-20! Three weeks fresher, almost. Getting the new chick owners to buy the old feed. :barnie There was a nice older lady getting it all, lamp, bedding, & feed with the chicks all at once. Bit my lip and went to the checkout.

Hubs is a bit bummed that I sold so many birds. I was instructed to re-stock. Our TSC gets straight runs in. Which seems kinda stupid since they are in town, sell to those people in town and end up with a bunch of bummed out customers. I ordered a few birds from a better feed store.....that has a rooster return policy.
I am definitely a date checker too. If they go to the effort to put the old feed on top of the new feed I make them help me unstack so I can buy the fresher stuff.

We are still 100° out. I made a big puddle for the ducks. :wootclay....it holds water in that area of the run for several hours. It made the quackers happy.

LOL! I have heard "we have 19 chickens" but when I point out the short lives of 6 roosters, SILENCE.
He feeds them stuff from his plate and makes them roosts. He does not recognize that one is already crowing!
The little boys are always the cutest! :barnie

We are 85 and raining. Big relief!

So here are the chicks.
This is how most of the MFDs look.

This is the mystery chick.

Any ideas on what this color pattern will be or what the chick may be?

Lastly one of the MFDs does not look like the others.

There is no red showing up. Think it may be a different color morph? Maybe molted? It's only showing black and white.
I love sitting out on my screened in patio, with a cup of coffee, in the early morning, watching, and listening to the world waking up around me. The beautiful bird songs, the horses, the cows, the donkeys, and the lion.
Lion?

Yup. It isn't so bad around here in WV, but when I mention to people I work with or old friends in the DMV (district, MD, VA) area that we raise animals for meat and do the slaughtering/butchering ourselves they usually turn a little green. LOL.
