I just turned down an absolutely free emperor scorpion.

Whoops They’re sooo cute aren't they? Theres nothing weirder than holding a teeny bun and they magically hop out of your hand seemingly without moving a muscle!
I think the fish trained me for this. When they're sick you really cant do anything but water changes and meds, then just stand back and wait. Its SO hard! and sad when it doesn't work. But, yeah, there really wasn't anything else that could've been done.
Here are pics from our first successful litter from Opal, our standard Rex about 5 years ago.
That poor rabbit! She was in the middle of birthing when mini saw her and completely freaked out. He took her out and put her on our rope hammock! No idea why I put her back and quickly put the little ones into the nest box. We were yelling at each other the hole time . Thankfully 8 out of 10 survived. One was still born and another died a week later. Sadly it was the only broken one, my fave.

They are undeniably adorable!
These days I just enjoy the tiny wild ones that hang out with me in the garden. They are rather tame really. Not pettable but will come within a couple feet of me and happily chew on weeds.

Unrelated funny story.

Today hubs friend came by for a bit to work on the project bike in our garage. My dogs do NOT like him one bit. In fact Tilly wants very much to do him grievous harm.
Later today the neighbor that hunts popped over to bring summer sausages he made with elk. The dogs are ok with him. Today being on edge from the first guy was "different". Tilly and River took up the whole window! Sable could not see who was out there so tried to rip the door knob off the front door. I have never seen that level of problem solving from her before. Jack could open round knobs but he was already old when Sable came here. He showed her many things like how to open gates. I did not think he showed her the door knob trick.

Sadly, they did not make it. It was her first litter and usually they dont do well. I just wish hubs had said something when he saw it this morning. Honestly, I really dont know why he said he knew about it. He was better off keeping his mouth shut cuz now Im just plain ticked. Not that I really expect anything different. He does stuff like this all the time. Im just glad the kid made it to adulthood.
I will be marking their ears tomorrow and by the time that wears off the tattoo kit i ordered should be here. I will breed her again tomorrow too. After marking their ears. There isnt one bit of difference between these two! They are identical. The san juans are at least a bit different in size. Im marking them too though, just in case. The biology teacher is taking them as snake food so at least they arent wasted. I really hate throwing bodies into the garbage. Theres just something wrong with that. imo

So sorry for the loss. I understand what you mean about wasting the bodies. I turn any dead chicks / chickens I have into bacon (aka pig food).
