Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning everybody :frow

Ouch! I hope it didn't break skin. I don't know if they can, thankfully I haven't been bitten very hard yet.

Good morning Fishy :frow have a wonderful day ! My daughter did it once and never again.

Good morning folks!

Really glad to be able to sleep in this morning. I have Monday mornings off and DH watched the boys so I could sleep in a bit. DH is now off to bed so I have the boys.

I’m trying to break Thing 2 of doing this. He likes coming up to us and biting any piece of clothing he can get his mouth on. Unfortunately 1 out of every 4 times he does this, he grabs the skin underneath the clothing as well.

Good morning Rae :frow have a wonderful day ! I bit my daughter back and she never did it again. I just let her know it hurts and she was done with biting.

Faster than coffee for certain.:)
Good morning Chicky :frow have a wonderful day ! That's one way to get woke up 😁 hope your okay !

You break him be sure to tell me how you did it lol! :D

Iv'e got some little beak scratches, Deed's has a little cheese wedge head she's extra pointy so her bites are like being grabbed by needle nosed pliers.
Oh and yeah, they can break skin iv'e got a scar where a cockrel bit me on the ankle.
A serious "im warning you lady!" bite isn't fun.:(

Tried that with both boys. They thought it was funny and a challenge to bite harder. Now I flick ears.

All birds are less mad finally.

Mondays are "special" treat day here. Yesterday River went shopping in the chicken treat bucket. That means "special" treats were not immediately available this morning. Nothing in said bucket was dangerous for River to nom on so she is fine. The chickens ended up with scrambled duck eggs and fresh apple wedges. The ducks got my fancy salad mix of greens and once the hose thawed a full pool.

The yard is finally quiet.

I’ll have to make sure to nip any bad behavior in the bud immediately then. No pun intended :lau
Mine do peck, but it seems they only peck at something curious, even if it is nail polish 🙄 they don't know its actually my finger, or toe. I push them away, but it doesn't seem to really phase them. They do seem to listen though. I saw one under the roost looking like she was going to lay an egg. I told her “no you dont! Get your butt in this nest box!” She looked away and the others gave me dirty looks, but she got up and went outside no eggs under the roost:lau

Mine thought, still does, that everything is a challenge :he
I hear girls are better with that but I wouldn't know. I was not an easy kid, but I certainly don't remember challenging any authority figure. Especially not with any punishment. Good thing they have tons of land for all that energy :gig

The cockrel bite was a pressure cut, he wasn't aggressive but he was spoiled.
He was the offspring of the wonkest rooster iv'e ever owned, a guy I could not for the life of me figure out.
He tried to mount chicks, literal peeping chicks so I returned his scuzzy butt.
I had just finished nursing that dirty bird back from a hawk fight too!
Anyways Cletus the cockrel tried to hurry feeding time along by biting my ankle.
Nice bruised and bloody pressure bite, first and ONLY one he ever got on me.
I gave him away two days later, he lived and loved amongst turkeys.
Come to find out his dear pa-pa was a weeeee bit inbred all the birds i'd gotten with him were except Marlene.
Delawares made good money so they were better tended.
Hobo is capable of getting a chunk as well, old girl does a quick twist like a goose no goose teeth though thank goodness!
She only bites me accidentally if im blocking her war path.:)

I should mention the treat bucket is normally not sitting on the floor or accessible to the dogs. I was putting veggie scraps I had saved in the fridge as well as emptying a couple things from the fruit drawer in there when I got interrupted. River stole a most of a cut up apple and all the leftover corn. There were just cucumber peels and tiny bits of very slobbery apple when I busted her. Not enough for 19 chickens at all.

Sounds like some dog farts are on the horizon lol!
