Official Squatch Watchers

Small hawk hanging around the poultry yard. Too small to bother the adults, I guess it's looking for rodents ... not sure how well it's hunting is going, since the turkeys are following it around standing below it having a fit. I have chased it off a couple times.

Good morning Mo :frow have a great Friday !!

Mo, if you have a 3'x4' or 4'x4' piece of plywood you can put something under it, adhesive backed tile on it to make it a floor and 2"x6" for a border around it. Put the digging stuff in it with an old bed and that can be his spot. He can dig without ruining the floor and if the bed gets torn up that's fine, too. It can be dismantled at a later date and the plywood with tile used as part of a floor in a coop. I did the plywood with tile for the chickens and it's still going strong after 4 years, no damage from poop or anything else.

You can teach Noah that he has a digging spot by taking him there and showing him he can dig there and praise/reward him for digging in that spot. If he did somewhere else you redirect him back to his digging spot.

This is where the big dogs are allowed to dig, as you can see nothing grows there anyway, so it's a foxhole garden.
