Official Squatch Watchers

Good, because that's a recipe for comb winter dubbing

It's crazy! We are NEVER that humid here.

I will leave all windows at least cracked the rest of the winter. The chicken house only had a very small amount in the inside of that roof. The duck house was dripping the run was like rain.

Oh....and the duck house has a 2'x3' window left fully open, 2 vents 6" x12", 1 vent 6" x3' as well as 2 more windows that are 2'x3' that were open 6".
I would have thought it hat would be plenty. Not even counting the whoopdies in the roof. (Metal roof ridges)

Currently 43° with a feels like of 27.

Henny, I know you know about ventilation and humidity. That's why I was surprised you were caught off guard. Did your area suddenly have an increase in humidity? With the snow that's a possibility.

Totally not prepared for 90% humidity. That duck house has oodles and gads of ventilation. Then add having open windows I thought all was well in there.
I have to remind myself I won't get lower humidity in there than the outside air.

I plan to close the windows at roost height in the chicken house.....which is all of them. I can leave the ones in the storage section open though. They do have open soffits so :fl That my 2 with big combs come through unfrosted.
