Good morning everybody![]()
Good afternoon Fishy, have a great day
I will go with magic. At least it wasn't a bear!
It sounds like you finished putting the net up just in time. Do they change carriers often? I don't think Ive heard of that before.I'm running about 160# of feed a week. A little less most of the time but thats the big birds. I still have chick food and meat birds food I go through too. When they couldn't get outside I was filling food every other day. So about 20# in the big coop alone in a single day. Burbs are eating me out of house and home!

Sort of got a net up. The frames were trashed. The nets I had were tangled and cut. They needed something so I ran cable between the 2 coops and hung the net. Its not perfect and if you look close there are poles with bottles on holding up some sections but they are safe from hawks.
Thanks to who suggested 3T products. Not cheap but its what I wanted and got here super fast.

These 2 have made my days hell recently. They are either red tailed or red shouldered hawks. Big enough that I go outside with my chihuahua when he goes potty. They seem to love my yard in particular. I'm sure the neighbors were thrilled when I was outside finishing up the net and started yelling at the hawks. I was half frozen and beyond done for the day. Then I see them watching me. I couldn't help it and started telling them off.
In other news the post office is beyond backed up and I didn't have my nieces gift for her birthday. Its been sitting in Cleveland 2 weeks now. I'm going to have to contact the company. They sent it UPS to CLE and that was fine. Why they then turned it over to the post office I don't know. I ordered her KiwiCrates for her birthday. She was supposed to get the first one for her birthday then 5 more. Still didn't get the first one soooo.... Its not the companies fault but why switch carriers? UPS delivers to my house.

For thwarting the hawks! It sounds like you finished putting the net up just in time. Do they change carriers often? I don't think Ive heard of that before.
The hawks have been around. I was surprised that with the chickens not being out they hung around. Thats always whats suggested when there has been a hawk attack: keep your chickens in for 2 weeks or so and the hawks will move on.For thwarting the hawks!
Most packages coming here are through the expected carriers. Lately more are being transferred to the post office once they hit my town.
I think it is to alleviate the overloaded delivery companies.

Not these 2. They haven't gone anywhere and seem to be in the yard more often.
I've not know the carries to switch packages. I feel like they are playing the shell game.
"You're package started out with UPS. Now watch the tracking number.... is it over here? Over there? Who has your package now?"
If anything the post office should be handing them off to other delivery companies. CLE has 50+ semi trucks of mail waiting. My parents are getting their mail delivered 2x a day because so much is suddenly coming through and its unsorted. So they are actually getting less mail but more work for their delivery person.
