Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning all.
Was-10 and I went to put the battery charger on the plow truck.... and the switch broke. I have another somewhere. Truck started yesterday, so maybe it will later when it warms up. I didn't try it. It has something that draws power so it eats batteries. No one has been able to figure out what the issue is. I know someone with the same model with the same problem and same results... Supposed to snow tomorrow.
I had on a new pair of boots that were supposed to be good to -30f.... and my feet were freezing in an hour with wool socks on... :barnie

Good morning Mo 😊 have a great Sunday and stay warm. It seems like every pair of boots I buy are like that 😞.

My hands have been feeling the freeze.

The old plow truck at the old house ate batteries too. Started just unhooking it unless we knew we would use it every few days. No idea what drains it but it needs to start when it’s needed!

My grandpa would bring the vehicle batteries in the house whenever it got too cold. I think it worked, if I remember right.

Cold is definitely hard on those batteries. :(
I used to keep an inexpensive jump box. It worked for several years. The good ones are rather pricey. Hubs has 2 good ones for his job. Those were a needed item for him.
Bringing them inside or keeping them on a battery maintainer certainly helps.
All the motorcycles here are wired for maintainers. We plug them in when we park them for extended periods. Without those they would all be completely destroyed.

There are a few options I suppose.

We will be below zero the end of next week. I do not look forward to it one bit.
Right now we read 19 with a real feel of -9. It is a bit windy out. I will be closing windows on coops tonight. They have other higher up vents so it's ok.
