Official Squatch Watchers

I am so over that particular snake it isn't even funny.
It was almost time to lock up and there it was going all face lock on my flipping egg.
Had to drop everything get my dang claw because my snakes like poison ivy so sweaty snake wrangling is one of the biggest fattest no nos.
I begged and pleaded for it to keep the egg, but of course it spit it out.
I'm ok with being down one egg.
I wish I could speak snake enough to explain the rules of too many cooties to just leave it.
I would have been right there cussing beside you! That is a NO NO in the nest box!

Good morning folks :frow

So I know it makes a great privacy fence and also a pretty good sound barrier. And I found a place here in Ohio that actually grows it and supplies most Zoos in the US and Canada. But they sell it and there are a few types that will grow in my climate. They of course recommend bamboo barrier to stop it from spreading and cause I'm cheep I thought about doing that on the neighbors side only.
But it will probably be down the list of things that need done getting closer to the bottom.
New roof is first. 🤦🏻‍♀️
what ever kind I have you don't want. It's the same kind my neighbor in VA had. He mowed it down, dug it up and poured concrete over it. Well, that worked for 15 years, the bamboo broke up the concrete.
Hi everybody :frow

I finally got caught up :celebrate and I only got booted off twice.

Bittersweet news - hubs is coming back home on Sunday. 🤣. I didnt mind the quiet
I also just managed to burn myself on the side of my hand. 🥺 Its blistering already. I was going to vacuum the stairs and clean the fish tanks, both of which are overdue. I am actually upset over that. I guess thats what I get for putting things off. Someday I’ll learn not to do that.

Nunny, I dont know much about bamboo, but I do know that there are clumping and runner types. You will want the clumping kind to avoid the massive spread.
:hugs:hugs Sounds like you're ready for some :hugs:hugs
Fishy, if it's a fairly bad burn, call your primary, and ask them to call in for a tube of Silvadene cream for you. It's not too expensive, and is like a miracle in a tube for burns. It'll have it healed up in no time.
I second this. Silvadene is amazing stuff.

:frow Good morning Chicky, have a great day... It may well be time to find a more permanent solution to the snake
Good morning everyone. :frow

I find myself wondering if cootie snake comes up from the mosquito waller to hang out.
:frow Good morning Henny, have a great day

My thoughts exactly!

So I guess the bamboo is more of "what will survive my climate" first then type second. The place that sells it says they mow what they don't want, it is grass. But they are also selling it. Not they are going to say "spreads horribly to plague proportions. Do not recommend "
Once it gets established, it is permanent. You could get rid of it by putting your chickens on it -- they kill erverything!

Hey that is half what I said, other half rhymes with duck. :lau
Can you say that if you don't have ducks?

I am entitled, I have ducks, funniest birds on earth. The morning the young drake was on a duck backwards, had her by the tail feathers with his bill. :lau

Looks like you saved one egg. It looks shiny, snake spit???!!

Ha I have areas where they killed the grass and weeds they like,... No ragweed, dandelion or plaintin is left. Snake weed, goldenrod, jump seed, mares tail have taken over.

It is 11:30. I am not dead yet. :yesss:
The paramedics can stand down. :lau

I am however disgustingly drenched in sweat. 😓

At least what I am working on is currently in the shade. I built a garden box with cull cedar to go next to the greenhouse earlier. My dug out dirt (full of weeds of course) went in there. Later I will add amendments. That box will hold tulips, crocus, and maybe a couple herbaceous things I want to save. It is small at 2.5' by 5'. I am hoping the soil stays loose enough I can pull weeds as they show up. The area I pulled that dirt from is east of the former coop that had a hoop run. It is 39" x 6'. I am putting pavers in there for 3 main reasons. First is weeds. Second is it would be very hard to tend in ground plants in that area without stepping on them. Third is I don't want wet dirt up on that foundation.

I may eat something before heading back out there. I have 6 of 18 pavers set and that is not enough.

Well this explains all my gross sweat...that and the 41% humidity.
