So remember how I was having a lower back ache?
Earlier I started getting cramps.

I have officially joined the world of adult women.
Congrats on getting the curse! My mom and both my sisters got it late. One of my daughters got it late too. She was so relieved when it finally happened for the same reasons you said, because of her friends.

I, on the other hand got it when I was just 11 and didn’t yet know ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT WAS TO COME.
I thought it had something to do with riding my friend’s brother’s brand new ten speed bike —which my mom had told me not to ride because I was short and he was tall— and I only got about fifty feet before I crashed into a curb, and had..... an abrupt altercation with that stupid bar that is on boys bikes but not girls.
I ran home crying , snuck upstairs and didn’t tell my mom. Later that night bleeding ensued and continued on and off all summer with cramps too.
I see-sawed between “Oh my god I’m bleeding from INSIDE and I’m going to die!” And “Thank you sweet Jesus for forgiving me for going against my mothers orders!”
It wasn’t until my college age sister came home from being a camp counselor for the summer and was getting ready to go back to college that she noticed Kleenex’s and toilet paper disappearing at a highly suspicious rate.
I caved.
I confessed.
She hugged me for so long.
Then she went and told my mom the whole story and my mom came upstairs crying.
My mom has been gone for 15 years. I can still remember the look on her face. She felt so awful.
My sister had a freak massive stroke last year. She survived but isn’t the same. I miss the old her so much.
I’m telling you this story because this is what grownup women do. We share stories and feelings and we care about each other. You are one of us now!

Smuvs, my son hunts and knows how to clean birds, not sure if he has had to do the deed. He told me Monday that I need to stop getting attached to my chickens :( why would I want to miss that joy of getting attached. I would be devastated to find my chickens like you did. Makes me sad.

This was the Brat Pack... the ones we rescued from the mulch place, remember? We thought there were 5, turned out to be 8. And one had it's tail feathers completely pecked out (we briefly named her Assless). We'd had them quarantined off, too close to the neighbors wooded area... but hadn't planned on them being there for much longer.

Assless (now Lucy) had her tail feathers grow back and an reintegrated into the Brat Pack. We had one escapee about 6 weeks ago or so, but chalked it up to her wandering too close to the neighbors property and their dog getting her.

We definitely should have integrated them into the main flock a LONG time ago... but we'd been lazy. We also had seen where their fencing was looking a little *sad* in places, but they always seemed fine, so they became kind of low priority, especially with this tatering weather.

The remaining 4 have now been integrated into the main flock. We have already had a few skirmishes...... but everyone is currently in bed. This weekend, time to make the *main*, prefab coop into a CP coop, since it looks like NOW Xena has piled herself and the nuggets into it. They've currently abandoned their CP coop since the Brat Pack is in it.

We LOVES you Sexay Sammie!!! We love our RJ as well, even though he doesn't come play in our playground much anymore... :(

The reason you had them separated was to avoid cross contamination of something deadly like Mereks. NOT because you were lazy.
Some rogue hungry animal came. Could have happened to ANY ONE OF US. :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
