Official Squatch Watchers

I resorted to buying Cornish because the DP birds don’t have a lot of meat on them. Especially white meat. I’ll still eat my DP roos, but I want some good roasting chickens.

If a bird can be made into a meal for 3, then that's enough for us. :D Not looking to sell or trade or anything else... really trying to make it as self sustaining as possible when it comes to burdz!

it is always handy to have a small coop that can be used to remove a bird for one reason or another. Not sure if you do or not.

Maybe your favorite gal could use a hen saddle?
I have used them on pecked birds in the past. The birds don't tend to mind.
No bachelor pad and with the possibility of moving I don't want to throw money (I don't have) towards something I mat not be able to take.
I have saddles but it's her poor little head. She needs a helmet.
Can you put the boys in a crate for a few hours of the day? If they have 20sqft or more they should be fine. I keep my randy youngsters with no manners in a bachelor pad. My older boys 10 months are much easier on the girls. Then again, there are 40 girls and 2 roosters in the main flock.
I've banished one to outside the fence for a day when he was misbehaving but it's so hard to catch him once it's bed time.

Kids that never get sick....they have a horrible puking version of this flu crap.
Quoted to say I refuse to like this. Hope it clears up soon.

It's cocci. I just went out to put her to bed, and she was still standing by the water. That's when it clicked. She's been drinking way more than normal. I'm going to treat with corid in the water supply and some concentrated corid to the mouth. Does anyone remember how concentrated the straight to the mouth is?
