Yeah definitely weird molting happening! One of my faverolles pullets is "selectively molting" just her tail and some of her neck. She's no where near old enough to molt, obviously she didn't get the memo.
I thought those were the only places my chickens were melting too but then I gently lifted up the feathers along their sides and found out that I was wrong they look like Porcupines under there!

ETA:don't panic people, my chickens are not melting.
I repeat, NOT MELTING!

Go back to whatever you were doing.
Nothing to see here.

No, the "hoop roof" will be 12 or 14 ft wide. This is what a cattle panel arch looks like at different spans. The plans will make more sense when I get the short wall mocked up.

oh I like the data of spans.. lots of people ask about this

I'll have to snatch her up and see if she's melting in more places than i can see. Off topic, cold weather has ran something in..i hear it chewing, i hate winter vermin .

I have 3 week old chicks under a hanging heat lamp. Some of the chicks are roosting around the lamp like it is a campfire and others I have to push off the top of the brooder because the hog the lamp. I will see if I can get a picture. When I go check on them at night the stupid Cockerel crows. Big, little dummy.

My little Peeps are still in their brooder in the garage, with the MHP set at 1 (the lowest heat). They are just fine, so we may turn the heating pad off completely this weekend.

In case anyone is curious, the going rate for a six foot tall chainsaw carving of a sasquatch is about $3,000. This thread caught my eye as I've been looking for one. How is that for random.

ONLY $3k for a 6 foot squatch?!?!? WHAT A BARGAIN!!!! :gig Welcome @dpenning , to the random (not about a) squatch thread!!!

@Redhead Rae you'll need to tag Moley and I when you start your thread!

I just did some quick research on internal laying-it looks like the treatments available will only prolong the suffering. If it does turn out that way, what would be the best euthanazation method? I know it seems I'm quick to jump on that idea, but I promise you, I want her to live the best life that she can, and I'm near tears even thinking of that idea, but I want to make sure she doesn't have to suffer because I don't want to let go.

:hugs We are here for you Ruby sweetie. :hugs
