Oh boy.....the all organic thing will make it a bit more complicated....and expensive. This sounds like it's out of my element so I'll just sit back and wait to read the responses. We have a very helpful diverse group so I'm sure it won't take long for help to arrive. How is your morning going Stacey?

Good. I'm working on a craft project in the living room so I can watch longmire on Netflix while I do it, which involves an electric staple gun and chicken wire instead of cleaning or writing, The two things I SHOULD BE DOING!
But I'm definitely going to have to vacuum up the evidence before DH gets home because if he steps on a rogue piece of wire I'll be done for.

We modifyed our chickens roost this morning
(Maybe they will stop fighting with the little ones and the lktfle ones will stop roosting in the window lol)

It looks great! They don't have any trouble getting to the top roosts?

My go to is stew. Beef or chicken. You can serve several times and reheat as needed.

I was thinking those two things. Great minds you know....

Now that you mention it... who had the solar water heater? Is it working?

It looks nice.. AND for some of us, we can just leave it outside instead of putting it in the fridge. Thanks for sharing! Do you think they can eat the cranberries whole?

I have the solar heater. Several bugs to work out. First of all, the manure is not composting. Second the sun may not shine when it snows. Third, i am too weak to open the waterer to refill it. Maybe if i put a whole layer of manure under the whole thing somehow. And i need to make it so the door opens and closes from outside the run. So many variables. But i have all winter to play with it!

Oooh! Oooh! I made that flock block!!! My mom wouldn't let me hang it on our door, though. Something about "too much poop already on the porch." Sigh.

No the lower branch is halfway up.. so kinda ladder system. She jumped up just fine.

I just got hulu back, said i wasn't going to do it but i did. I use one of those roku boxes for t.v. and usually watch YouTube but they updated it this morning and everything is tiny now so i can't see chit! I ended up just resubing to hulu, don't like it much either it's too busy but at least I can see what I'm doing. They gave me a "deal" 5.99 instead of 7.99 for a year.

Ohhh that makes sense. I'm having roost issues too. I have some that are on the roost and I made another roost on the other side, but instead of sitting on it most of them roost on the side of the poop board. I had 2 roosts along the back, but felt they were too close together now that the birds are bigger, but I couldn't separate them b/c the poop board wasn't long enough & they'd be hanging out over nothing (& pooping everywhere).. so I took 1 of them out & I don't think they like it.
