Official Squatch Watchers

Hubby just came home for lunch. His coworker has a fantastic puppy that he got about 10 months ago.
He is going to find out if the breeder will have puppies available this spring.
Its a Belgian Melinois. Super good temperament and well behaved.

:celebrate and :fl I would love to have one.
High drive dogs, hope you can keep it busy.

One last entry and I am moving on. I knew something was amiss since she abruptly stopped laying, and then kept going to the box. I also knew, it was normal for chickens to stop laying in the winter. I feel like a big loser for not checking her and doing something sooner. In my gut, I knew something was probably going on, but just decided to watch her. Anyway, I feel a little guilty and it is also a learning experience. Anyway, I just needed to put that out there so I can move on.
Honestly, I've been in a similar situation where someone seemed off, but I wasn't sure if there was a problem or not. Last week Klaus (a pullet) was missing when everyone was headed to the coop. It was getting dark and I was having trouble seeing I walked all around the house, up by the driveway, back by the woods near the coop... worried something had gotten her. I found her hiding under the backhoe. I left her and went to put everyone in, she didn't follow. I called her and she ducked back under the backhoe. I noticed some poo on the ground by her so that was working, but her backside was wet & pulsing. I took her in the coop and checked her, but didn't feel anything. I sat and held her for a bit then she went into the nest to lay. I waited there freezing my butt off for a while waiting, hoping she was ok. Jaiden went to stand by her to keep her company. Eventually I left. The next morning there was no egg from her and the nest was wet but she was up and moving. Later I saw an egg that was very wet and I guess it was hers b/c everything is ok now. IDK if 'checking' her helped, kinda like they suggest doing a rectal temp for a constipated baby or if she was just having a hard time passing the egg (it wasn't any larger than normal). A similar thing happened to Nibbler too, basically had egg white spraying out her backside.

It's hard knowing when and how much to intervene with things. In the end you know you did your best and use the knowledge you gained in the future, but hopefully you never encounter this problem again.

There is a local artist in town my husband is friends with. His art is super expensive, but I just sent him an email to see if he would paint Sesame and asked for a price. He paints wild life, civil war, wild west and portraits. Maybe he will paint a chicken?? :fl we get a friendship deal if he will.

The inside of the goat shed is painted except the 2x4s which i want to use another color on. Slack workers did not show today and it has to be 60 out there!
Cleaned out part of the coop, took out 2 wagon loads down to the compost. Dug around 2 stumps, got one out, the other needs the chain saw. They were just tall enough to trip me in the dark or when my hands are full.
Going down to dig sand for the big planters i have that are like half barrels but plastic so i need to drill holes in the bottom. Got some rabbit poo and composted cow manure to mix in. Need to get those last tulips planted!

Good afternoon peeps! Running super late because hubs wanted to hang out here all morning. My backyard smells like skunk for some reason and i broke my vacuum sucking up all the glitter and sequins Flashy molted in the floor while i was assembling him yay! :)
I saw one at TSC and was so tempted to buy it!!! Show me a pic! I bet it is the same one.

Here is Flashy,he's still living inside because i haven't found the extension cord and his actual cord is maybe 8 inches long. :)
