I got 4 eggs today (out of 6) despite the cold weather.
First time in a long time.

We got 2 eggs out of 40 hens and pullets today. Hopefully they start producing more as the weather warms this week.

I need to start integrating my flock. They have “seen” each other for almost 8 weeks. I cannot stand to see the older ones peck on the babies, even though it is normal, it looks painful! Seeing how the Ostrich does ought to be interesting too. This all makes me nervous!!!

I'm a young grandma wanna-be. On New Year's Eve I was in VA and always sleep at a friend's house rather than (ewh) at my son's bachelor pad. Lol
We decided to run down the mountain and into the teeny town below and grab a quick dinner at a little pub.
There was a table behind us of four young couples. One had a baby.
He was really fussy and hungry (of course) JUST as their dinners arrived.
I marched over and offered... and the cute mom took me up on it!
I gave that bottle and burped him like a BOSS granny and drank my wine at the same time!
The mom was relaxed and happy to eat her dinner with two hands. I hardly wanted to give him back. my friends thought it was hilarious. They said only you!
Only in a small town....
