@Smuvers Farm we slept with a window open as well last night.

UGH, I did not sleep well. I kept dreaming about possums trying to climb in the open bedroom window and that my broken coop was singing a siren call to bring in all the predators to kill my chickens.

Fortunately, there is only one dead chicken and one dead possum the same number as when I went to bed last night.

After coming in from dealing with the possum, my husband said "So, are we even now?" and we actually aren't. We've lost 3 chickens and only caught 2 predators. Then we talked about starting a painted tally on the inside of our shed like the fighter planes in WWII used to do with how many enemy aircraft they have taken down.

Question: Let’s say I wanted to add a couple of Ameraucanas to my flock. I have 8 & 14 weekers.
1. Add 6 month old hens who are already starting to lay, but not the color prefer, but I know they are girls!
2. Add 6 week olders, color I prefer, but could end up with boys (since I hear they are hard to sex).

Mind says 1. Heart says 2. They heart will lead you astray I know.

#2 and eat the boys. Go for the color you want :thumbsup
 
Hi well hubby might go home tomorrow, pending:fl. As for peg tube they've decided to use an adhesive ,interesting. Weather at 66 low 40 under winter storm watch beginning at 12 am till 6 pm snow, sleet, lows in teens :eek:with that said thank you everyone for your well wishes, prayers, thoughts, & laughs. It is all greatly appreciate :hugs.When I get home I'll post you my creepy horror adventure :barnieI'm taking notes both written and mental :)
