I have Wheatens. It held true for mine at least. Lovely ladies. Nice blue and blue/green eggs. They held out laying for forever. Had a pretty rough first molt and are holding onto the eggs again. That does seem to be a theme around here lately.

They did get to go outside today. Not sure all of them did but they had the option.

Chickens friggin' LOVE styrofoam. When we were free-ranging our chickens they started eating the foam siding as fast as the contractor put it up. It was one of a few reasons we stopped free ranging them.

Actually now I think I remember you saying that! Wish I’d thought of it BEFORE I put it in there.

Still getting 4 - 6 eggs per week here, only cuz Lizbeth is molting. Gurtrude is laying, but finally contemplating a molt. So, currently have 50% of my birds producing.

One positive of indoor chickens, the other positive, don't have to worry about temps during the winter unless power goes out. Summer is a little more challenging, but we make it work. Happy, healthy birds, yummy eggs as a bonus.

I got three eggs so far this week! 18 chickens and 14 guineas. Come spring i expect to have more eggs than i can use.
