Yes, because it's banned in birds. Seems a tad extreme but to be safe I use Permethrin.

That is what I used. The poultry dust has it in it also but there is a liquid concentrate that you can get and mix for spraying. I had been warned about using the Sevin Dust. I originally used de on the floor but did not use it after my subsequent cleaning. I felt uncomfortable with the chickens eating off the floor with it there. I know it's food-grade and supposedly safe but I still didn't trust it. I also threw away their eggs after the treatment and then for another week after I stopped.

I do not have a smarty-pants phone so no idea how that would function.

On a smartphone you would do the same. When you get to the address bar press your finger against it and hold it down and you will be given the option to copy. Then you go to the place where you want to put the URL and hold down again and you're given the option to paste.

What is SH and AC?

Hi Suzi! They are fine, actually. I originally wanted SH because I read they are more docile and hardy than AC. I got mine at about 6-8 weeks of age and after a month or so of quarantine, they went in their coop/run and were fine. They have gotten fairly mellow since then. I don't let them free range because I have a lot of woods and they are good fliers. They have their own coop/run that they share with my bantam cochin.

They are beautiful birds, but they have that wild aspect in them, like cats. Although they seem content in their housing situation, they are quick to perch on the door frame when I open it and I have no doubt that if I wasn't cautious, they would fly out of there in a heartbeat...

Haha! They do seem to be popular. What is the draw to them? All black? Personality? I know every breed is different and I don’t know much about those.

Well they are stunning.....especially the roosters Even their insides are black....their meat, their organs... they are very unique
