Official Squatch Watchers

So true.
Over 160 chickens raised and never had a dog get one. So sad since it is so preventable.
But so many people do not know that chicken wire will not deter animals from tearing in after chickens. I didn't know it when i started, used chicken wire on a chicken tractor. I mean, hardware and farm stores sell it so people buy it. Lost every chicken in there while on vacation! What a call to get! You have dead chickens laying all over the barnyard....

I think the reason for this is, lack of research. I studied up on chickens for a LONG time before we even moved to our home. Of course, a lot of people just wing it and then close the barn door after the horse got out.... :idunno

Well some of us learn the hard way. But after that, all my buildings had welded wire outside of 2x4 and chicken wire inside so the coons couldn't reach the chickens in the run.
