Official Squatch Watchers

Since I shut my birds in at night. I used plastic snow fencing to cover the run on my stationary coop. It's worked really well with the 6ft high dog run chain link fencing panels.
Um yeah, but we have bears. They can climb. I do lock mine in at night but long term plastic stuff breaks down. I have no desire to redo the roof of the coop.

Here in the high country a BYC member took the pallet racking grids and welded them together. Last I heard it was still working to keep the bears out.

I agree. If they were mine I would put them down. So very sad.
You know at one time i would have thought that. But when i ran my little dog over with the Mule and blood was running out of his nose, hubby said lets wait and see how he does. So i did. Never took him to the vet and spent a fortune on IV fluids or surgery. And you know what? He went and laid under the porch for a while. And he recovered just fine! And he was run over on his head in a gravel driveway!
Chickens go into survival mode. Given the right circumstances, animals can survive amazing injuries. I say treat them the best you can and wait and see. I was going to have the dog put down, but hubby talked me out of it.

I have the area fenced where the chickens are, but not the guineas. Their coop is made of wood, welded wire and cattle panels. I do have hot wires i can set up if the bears start trying to get in. I think they avoid areas where the dogs have marked.

Well everyone. I'm off to bed. The Milk Drinker, my SIL and I are making a 3 hr one-way trek to Pittsburgh to go shopping at Costco (the closest one to us). We have a lot we need to stock up on and tomorrow will be a good day to do it. It is always nice to have someone along to help me with the MD. He is getting to be a real handful. Fortunately, he still (generally) likes car rides and sitting in the cart.

You all are so bad. :gig

Totally different note. My puppy hates the food I been trying to get her to eat. Any suggestion on grain free foods that puppy would maybe like?

I like Diamond Naturals. They make a grain free. TSC shows 28lb for $42. Pet supplies plus shows the same...

Sleep well and drive safe. I would die if Costco was that far from me.
Mine is a 30 minute each way trip.

FNF, I can get that one with just a 4 day lead time. It is what my son will be feeding his new puppy.
I will check our TSC to see if they carry it before I order some from the other store.

Be ready Cappy. Them bears mean business when they decide to break in.
Shot gun and rifle, back up bear spray. I put cedar log siding on the front and one side so far. Plus chain link runs. I know bears can get into anything. Luckily these bears seem shy and retiring. And there is a dead deer in the river if they need a snack.
