Oh, lol! Insurance wouldn't cover it as it is deemed "cosmetic". Nice right?

That was how it started. If they did it all at once insurance couldn’t refuse. I’m sure they found a way to weasel out of it.

(You bet if a man had to have a testicle removed they’d give him a fake one right away!)

Went out to feed the chickies and another brat packer is dead! The biggest one, my dusky white. Sheesh! They are in a secure coop and she was in the middle of it......

Oh yeah, if it was a dude they'd be like "We need neuticles stat! Jumbo size!" But since its a middle-aged barely over the poverty line lady they'll happily leave her with one DDD, I'm worried she's going to start going crooked.

DH went home for lunch and Ester was out of the coop and eating and scratching and doing chicken things. No egg but that's ok....she laid yesterday. He even sent me a pic of herView attachment 1243677

I wasn’t sure how the lid thing worked. I ended up cutting tabs on the hole sides, drilling a hole in the tab, folding it down and put the holders through it.

You said she was the biggest, maybe she had a cardiac deformity. Was her comb color previously normal?

She was probably around 2.5 years old, a rescue from some months ago..... they had been in a temp coop up until a few weeks ago, when we found a couple missing and one dead. We moved the remainder 4(?) to the new coop and run, and 2 MORE have died..... so I am getting weirded out.
