Official Squatch Watchers

I had a hawk causing a ruckus this morning. The hawks have a huge next in our front yard and very high up :barnie. When I first got my baby chicks one day I had them in a cage under a tree line getting fresh air and sun. I walked over to find a hawk sitting on top of their cage!
I can't say I have ever seen a hawk flying above my house before...that will teach me to keep napping possums near by.

I had one sitting on Hobo's quarantine pen. Big mofo, i swear chickens in a cage are just like a buffet to those jerks.

I just spent half an hour watching those faverolles dust bathe, it was the weirdest I've ever seen. I've not just watched in a long time. They're so fat and fluffy now their legs just stick straight out when they're on their sides. I looks like someone just tipped a stuffed chicken over. I was fascinated. :pop
My mixed breed girl is the dustbath queen. She figured out how to smash herself in a bucket to take a bath. All the others know too. She picks a spot and they all run over to join in.
Guess who didn't get to free range today.

Anyone???

My silly girls...there has been a hawk hovering above all day.
I guess I need to go pick up the possum??

He is not in my yard...the Mexican placed him nicely on the other side of our fence...on the MAIN road..thinking the city would have picked him up already.
Hawks don't want already dead unless they are starving. The opossum might bring vultures but I doubt a hawk. It could be a youngin looking to set up a new territory for itself.
